Have you heard about the WELL Health-Safety Rating? The WELL Building Institute has released a new standard targeted at addressing healthy buildings in a post-pandemic world. Building owners are looking for the best way to manage their spaces for occupants in a post-pandemic environment. The International WELL Building Institute has created the WELL Health-Safety Rating™ to specifically address these concerns. According to the International WELL Building Institute: “the WELL Health-Safety Rating is an evidence-based, third-party verified rating for all new and existing building and space types and is focused on operational policies, maintenance protocols, emergency plans and stakeholder engagement strategies to help organizations prepare their spaces for re-entry in a post COVID-19 environment.

The WELL Health-Safety Rating promotes indoor safety by examining 22 features across five core areas: Cleaning and Sanitation Procedures, Emergency Preparedness Programs, Health Service Resources, Air and Water Quality Management and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication. It requires a minimum of 15 criteria be met in order to achieve the rating and be awarded the WELL Health-Safety seal.” Businesses of all sizes are taking extensive efforts to make their buildings safe from COVID as states increasingly ease restrictions. For example, the New York Yankees decided to make Yankee Stadium the first sports venue to achieve the WELL Health-Safety rating.
