Green Building Associate

With over 18-years of experience managing projects that pursue green building certification, of different building types, located across the country, GCG has a deep understanding of the approach needed to manage the certification needs for our clients.

The Associate position requires a team member with a Bachelor’s degree and at least 2-years of experience working on projects that pursue green building certification such as LEED and Green Globes in particular. Having a professional credential in good standing is ideal. The ability to read architectural drawings is fundamental to this position.

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable LEED and Green Globes Associate with a specialized focus on material tracking credits. Qualified candidates must have experience working with LEED material credits.

Key Responsabilities:
Material Tracking and Documentation involves overseeing the tracking and documentation of materials used in construction projects, ensuring compliance with LEED and Green Globes requirements. Maintain accurate records of material specifications, and environmental product disclosures such as Environmental Product Declarations, Material Ingredient Reporting, and Low-Emitting Material compliance.

Job Duties Include:

Effective communication, organization, strategic planning, problem-solving, and attention to detail.

Ability to review architectural plans and contractor submittals to assist in documenting green building certification credits.

Review and respond to contractor submittals for LEED material tracking credits.

Ability to manage time independently and complete tasks in an efficient manner.

Respond to client needs effectively and within 48 hours.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

GCG has a process for managing LEED and Green Globes projects will be shared at the orientation, but in order to manage a project successfully you are expected to keep clear records of the status of open and closed tasks by project team members, maintain a checklist for the rating system, ensure the documentation is progressing in line with the schedule of the project and sharing updates with the client as needed.
The position starts remotely with the potential to move into an office if desired. This is a full-time position (40-hrs per week) during normal business hours Monday-Friday.

Green Building Consultant
The Green Building Consultant position requires team member with a Bachelor’s degree and at least 5-years of experience managing projects that pursue green building certification such as LEED, WELL, Fitwel, Green Globes, and/or other similar rating systems. Having a LEED-AP credential in good standing is required as this is most applicable to our work. Additional credentials are also useful.
Job Duties Include:

As a consultant, you are also expected to manage projects from early in design through construction in pursuit of green or healthy building certification. GCG has a process for doing this which will be shared at the orientation, but in order to manage a project successfully you are expected to keep clear records of the status of open and closed tasks by project team members, maintain a checklist for the rating system, ensure the documentation is progressing in line with the schedule of the project and sharing updates with the client as needed.

You are expected to provide technical guidance to project team members as to how to comply with the rating system’s criteria.

Follow contractual terms of a project and should there be circumstances that warrant providing services outside of our scope, notify Sara Greenwood.

Lead project team kick-off meetings and ongoing project team coordination meetings as needed.

Proficient in Microsoft, Adobe and some experience with Revit.

Effective communication, organization, strategic planning, problem solving, and attention to detail are attributes that the Green Building Consultant is expected to have and improve over time.

Review architectural plans, contractor submittals and responding to submittals for LEED material tracking compliance shall be addressed.

Providing deliverables of a contract and managing a project through fruition per the project schedule and contract is expected.

Responding to project team communication within 24-hours is a must, even if it is just to acknowledge receipt of the request.

There may be some travel required and travel expenses will be reimbursed either at cost with receipts or per the IRS mileage guidelines.
