We are pleased to announce that Rebecca Rice, WELL AP, LEED AP, BD+C, ISSP-SEA has joined Greenwood Consulting Group (GCG) as a Senior Consultant, LEED and WELL building expert.
“In this new, post-COVID era, as work and learning return indoors, I’m interested in helping our clients ensure that building occupants are safe and healthy indoors,” said Rebecca Rice. “The WELL Building Standard provides the framework for these approaches.”
At GCG, Rebecca will be helping manage projects that are pursuing certification in the LEED and WELL building systems. While the trend in architecture and construction has been to design buildings that are energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable, the COVID pandemic has shown a spotlight on a new, emerging role in design: designing spaces that are healthy for the building occupants. Rebecca’s mission with GCG will be to assist our clients—architects, developers, contractors, government agencies, and building owners by ensuring that spaces meeting set performance goals.
Rebecca comes to us after spending two years as an official WELL Certification Reviewer with Green Business Certification, Inc. (GBCI) and seven years as a senior consultant with NORESCO. She exhibited her expertise with the WELL Building Standard by reviewing and analyzing building designs, construction processes, and facility operations. She also gained experience in LEED certified facilities. The buildings she has worked on include LEED BD+C Platinum, Gold, and Master Site certifications. Her work on the University of Colorado, Boulder Athletics Complex received LEED BD+C Platinum certification, and included a Zero Net Energy Indoor Practice Facility.
Rebecca is a LEED (BD+C) and a WELL Building Standard Accredited Professional. She has her B.A. from Niagara University and achieved her Sustainable Business Practices Certificate from the University of Colorado-Boulder in 2010.
